how it works

Not6sun garments are made to measure, and so is the not6sun service, too.

Founder Scott Nickson will work with you to understand your requirements, capture your ideas and through a series of face-to-face fittings, make sure the finished item fits both your body shape and your personality.

Every not6sun customer gets a free 45-minute consultation with Scott, to discuss the shape, the style, the cut and the colour of your desired garment. During this consultation, Scott will sketch out rough ideas for you to approve, and will take your measurements.

Quote and deposit

Following the meeting and written agreement of the design drawing, an estimate cost will be supplied to you. A 40% deposit will be required within five working days of the estimate being supplied. Once this deposit has been paid, work can begin on creating your bespoke garment and a selection of fabric samples can be sent to you for your personal approval.

First fitting

At your first fitting, you’ll try on a ‘mock’ dress, made from the lining of your finished garment. This is an opportunity for the size and proportions of the garment to be tweaked and any minor changes to the design to be made. At this fitting you’ll also discuss and agree the fabric that will be used to make your dress or skirt.

Second fitting

At this fitting, you’ll try on your near complete dress. This is your chance to see how your finished garment looks and for Scott to make any small alterations required, and second payment will be required.

Final fitting

Your final fitting is when you’ll get your finished garment. Scott will do some final quality checks to ensure your item fits and sits right, and final payment will be required.

If requested, additional fittings can be scheduled on request. All fittings take place at not6sun’s studio in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, or at Junction 36 in Barnsley, however, home visits are available, too. Please visit the FAQ page for more information.
